Laboratóriá

The institute provides material analyses for fatigue life assessment of structures, operational tests of
samples and parts of structures, measurements and analyses of loads on structures in operation.
Instrumentation:

  • INOVA EDYZ 1000 kN frame electrohydraulic pulsator for research and material testing
  • MTS 370 Bionix Multiaxial 250kN/250Nm frame electrohydraulic pulsator
  • MTS 250 kN frame electrohydraulic pulsator
  • test benches (bicycle frames, motorcycle frames, trailer axles, automobile bogies)
  • TIV optical micro-hardness tester (hardness measurement of steels, metals, ceramics, plastics)
  • powerful digital microscope Keyence VHX 6000 for metallographic analysis
  • National Instruments multi-channel strain gauge for dynamic measurements in operation
  • DANTEC Q450 camera system for high-speed vibration, strains, displacements, etc.
  • Measurement of temperature fields with FLIR E96 thermal imaging camera (-20 ÷ 1500°C) with "thermographic" measurement
  • Fotostress equipment for non-contact measurement of strains (ductile and brittle materials)
  • Belec Compact Port HLC Portable Hybrid Spectrometer for composition analysis materials

The laboratories of the Institute of Applied Mechanics and Mechatronics have unique electrohydraulic pulsators Inova Edyz6 and MTS Bionix servohydraulic test system. These systems are able to simulate the real operation of structural units in a laboratory environment. Together with the multi-channel measuring apparatus, valuable results can thus be obtained for solving various operational problems such as fatigue fractures.
